Assisting People into Part-Time Employment
Walkways - Pathways to Employment

Walkways is aimed at increasing the rate of employment of people with intellectual disabilities by providing chronologically appropriate employability interventions i.e. creating pathways to employment.

Walkways operates through three individually tailored programmes

  1. PEER ‘Providing Equal Employment Routes’ is aimed at supporting young people in education to take their first steps into part time paid employment.
  2. REAL ‘Reaching Employment Ambitions in Life’ is aimed at adults who wish to experience paid employment.
  3. Social Enterprise / Firm - aims to establish enterprises that fulfill social needs within our communities while creating employment opportunities.

Walkways is a partnership between Agoriad CYF (Wales), WALK (Ireland) and Isle of Anglesey County Council (Wales). The programme is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Ireland Wales programme 2007-2013 (INTERREG 4A)
